Herculiner on outside of aluminum boat?

Instead of trying to repaint the outside of my aluminum boat I'm tempted to put a coat of Herculiner on it for durability.

Would this collect dust & not ever really rinse clean? I'm afraid of making it look worse than it already does.

I'd worry that it will cause too much drag, like a boat that has been in the water for weeks and is covered with algae.

I second that. The smoother the outside of the boat the faster you go. The "bed liner" products are all simular (some are harder to let heavy objects slide easily, some are softer so odjects stay put). They all leave the same finish somewhere between the texture of a grapefruit peel and a golf ball. Deffinitely would not reccomend!
