A Fin On A 115

I have a Yamaha 115 if i were to put a fin on the motor would it be worth it or would it be a waist to drill holes in my motor for it?

I installed one on a 115 on a 17' crestliner. It has helped my hole shot, smoothed out my ride, and has not effected my top end. My only other comment is it will effect the handling (cornering). I will install one on my next boat.

The easiest way to answer that question is do you have mor than two people in the boat on a regular basis? If the answer is yes, then get one. If it is no then don't. The fins help your hole shot and get you on plane faster. Especially if there are several people in the boat. But as was said you will sacrifice some handling.
