Does 2 Strokes Oil Injected Smoke more in colder weather?

I noticed that my Yamaha was smoking quite a bit when the weather was cold. I do not think it was fog as I could smell the smoke. When the weather warmed, the smoke was negligible. Is this a cold weather phenomenon or was AMSOIL the culprit or something else?

Hummm, let's see. If I remember correctly, warmer makes em run richer, that is why sleds smoke like hell and foul plugs when it is warm out. Also shy you have to put bigger jets in the sled when it is really cold out - too lean and you smoke the piston. So, maybe because you have a sophisticated like system, it puts more oil in when cold since the mixture could go leaner. Hard to say since I am not sure how much computerized gizmos you have on there to correct for all that in the air fuel mix etc.

In my opinion, it is steam you are seeing from the exaust during the colder weather. It is the same concept as a truck. In the winter, you can see the exaust/steam, but in the summer you can't. Maybe I am wrong though.

You might see a bit more smoke from the oil on a cold start but once the engines warmed I think your seeing water vapor.
