SCCO9803
I'm heading up to Clearwater and Turtle lakes (North of Atikokan, ON) in two weeks and am wondering if anyone has any info about the two lakes. Is the fishing good? What species of fish are present. Thanks for any info.
White Otter Guy
Clearwater is mostly lake trout. Turtle is okay for walleye, but dynamite for smallies. I will be at Browns June 16 to 24. We will be fishing White Otter & Clearwater.
SCCO9803
White Otter Guy,Thanks for the info. I'll be at Brown's from the 11th-16th. I'm going with my father in law and his brothers and dad. Is Brown's a nice place? They go there every year and I'm trying to get a feel of what to expect. What lakes would you suggest for walleyes? How do you fish them? Lindy rigs and drift, jigs, troll? Thanks again.
White Otter Guy
In my opinion the best walleye lake in the area is White Otter. The lake does not open to fishing until June 16th however. We always time our trip to be there for the 16th. You are going to miss out on some trophy walleye fishing. There are some other lakes to fish in the area to work with your time frame. Pekagoning-walleyes, Grey Trout-small to med. size lake trout, Eye lake- walleye, Kingfish-walleye, Turtle-walleye & smallies. Barry will help you get on the fish. It is too bad you won't be able to fish White Otter though.
