Tell me about this Vexilar product

It's called a Zonar. It's a handheld deal with a temp probe that you lower into the water and measures the water temp. I remember playing with this thing all the time when I was a kid. Must be at least 20-30 yrs old. Anyone know anything about it.

The Zonar is no longer in production, but you can find one on hsolist once in a great while for less than $5.
