Speaking of Dan Stier, his rig (Ford Excursion and Ranger 620V w/ Yamaha 4-stroke) is parked across the street from my office as I type. At least I think it's his...his name is on the motor. Must be visiting an old friend or on his way to some tournament here in MN.

How's everything with you? Still playing ball? Do ya get out fishing much? I've been heading north of Hutch this year and haven't had much cuccess at all this year. This weekend I'm planning on heading south to Madison Lake and giving that a try. Never fished the lake before, but am looking forward to it. Been hearing they're catching lots of small 'eyes with bigger ones mixed in. Sounds like depth is key. Smaller ones are deeper while bigger ones might be shallower. Hope the weather cooperates!

Everything is going good. Built a house in Arlington after moving back from the cities about four years ago. I don't get to fish as much as I'd like because I still play town ball. I've been out once this year. Fish Waconia Sat. for 'eyes. Only ended up with one. I just bought my first boat last year. Usually fish the Brainard Lakes area alot in the summer because my in-laws have a cabin up there. I will probably heading up there this weekend. Probably going to hit Lake of the Woods at least once this summer too. Usually do alot of ice fishing . My falls are booked with bow hunting, duck and pheasant hunting to boot. Plus I have a 2 1/2 yr. old boy that keeps me busy on top of all that.

Everything is going pretty good here too. I don't get out as much as I used to with having our 1 1/2 year old boy and it will be even less with another on the way in August. Work doesn't help much either especially during the summer months as I'm there from 6:30a.m. to 9:00p.m. and sometimes later. Then I gotta do all the yard work and "honey do" stuff on the weekends. Someday it will get better though...in like 18 years when the next kid graduates! smile.gif

What kind of boat did you get and what lake(s) do you fish around Brainard? We were actually looking at taking a 3-day weekend up there in June, but now we've got to get a new computer as the motherboard on our home computer went out. So, the money we had set aside for that trip is gone. Was looking at a few resorts on smaller lakes around Nissawa.

Anyway, hope you have/had a good holiday weekend!

My in-laws have a place on West Twin lake right outside of Pequot Lakes. We fish Round, North Long, and Gull alot. Sometimes we hit the White Fish chain also.Lot's of nice lakes to pick from. The only negative thing about it up there is the traffic is a zoo on weekends. I'm actually heading up in about six hrs. so I better get some shut eye. Just got home from playing baseball drinking a couple brews afterwards and packing up. Still play ball with Bade and K.Anderson too. Have a good Memorial Weekend.

    • got this tackled today took about 3 hours to get both sides done. Didnt even get to use a torch....   Thought I was golden with just jacking it up and I could get to everything but no luck. Had to remove the entire axle hub and brake assembly to get to what I needed. Was a pain but still better then taking off the entire pivot arm.    Axle bearings were already greased and in great shape thankfully. Got both leaf springs installed and its ready for the road again.   Probably going to have my electric brakes checked, I am not touching anything with the brake drums. Based on what I saw it doesn't look like my electric brakes have been working anyway. Brakes are nice to have if its slippery out
    • By The way that didn't work either!! Screw it I'll just use the cellular.
    • It’s done automatically.  You might need an actual person to clear that log in stuff up.   Trash your laptop history if you haven’t tried that already.
    • 😂 yea pretty amazing how b o o b i e s gets flagged, but they can't respond or tell me why I  can't get logged in here on my laptop but I can on my cellular  😪
    • I grilled some brats yesterday, maybe next weekend will the next round...
    • You got word censored cuz you said        B o o b ies….. haha.   Yeah, no… grilling is on hiatus for a bit.
    • Chicken mine,  melded in Mccormick poultry seasoning for 24 hours.  Grill will get a break till the frigid temps go away!
    • we had some nice weather yesterday and this conundrum was driving me crazy  so I drove up to the house to take another look. I got a bunch of goodies via ups yesterday (cables,  winch ratchet parts, handles, leaf springs etc).   I wanted to make sure the new leaf springs I got fit. I got everything laid out and ready to go. Will be busy this weekend with kids stuff and too cold to fish anyway, but I will try to get back up there again next weekend and get it done. I don't think it will be bad once I get it lifted up.    For anyone in the google verse, the leaf springs are 4 leafs and measure 25 1/4" eye  to eye per Yetti. I didnt want to pay their markup so just got something else comparable rated for the same weight.   I am a first time wheel house owner, this is all new to me. My house didn't come with any handles for the rear cables? I was told this week by someone in the industry that cordless drills do not have enough brake to lower it slow enough and it can damage the cables and the ratchets in the winches.  I put on a handle last night and it is 100% better than using a drill, unfortatenly I found out the hard way lol and will only use the ICNutz to raise the house now.
