reconditioned trolling motor?

LaVoi

Question

I am looking at buying a reconditioned trolling motor from cabelas. Is their any risk to this? What would be the reason that these motors were reconditioned? I just don't want to spend the money if there is a chance I may have problems with the motor in the future. Thanks for any help

I have heard good things with the reconditioned trolling motors. Plus they warranty them for a yearI believe. I had one several boats ago and no problems. Some get damaged in shipping and then redone or get sent back cause of returns. They get all gone through back at Minn Kota prior to being re shipped.

I've heard very good things about buying recondtioned Minn Kotas through Cabelas as well. Also, if it has AutoPilot, there's an excellent chance that they re-wired the compass board too, so you shouldn't have any of the problems other owners have had with the head spinning.
