Has anybody ever tried these ice fishing? Seems as though you could just flot the transducer in the hole and set the display next to you. I would only do this in a shack. Please give some feedback. Thanks

I have a humminbird piranha 1 portable that has a suction cup transducer and I put the suction cup to a 5 gallon bucket and put the transducer in the water. This work very well for ice fishing and it is very portable. I would think that the Humminbird Smarcast would work the same way.
