2002 Merc 125, tilt trim sensor?

rabideauguy

Question

I have a 2002 Merc 125, 2+2 on a sportfish 1850 and the dealer tells me that there is no built in feed from the tilt/trim that I can hook up to the gauge on my dash. Can this be true? If it is does anyone know where I could find a sensor that I could install..

Your dealer is correct. I just sold a 2002 90 HP Mercury and mine did not have the sending unit on the motor either.

I new the dealer really well and from what he told me I could have it put on for about 60 bucks! I never bothered with it though!

CHODE is correct.. most of merc's smaller motors (I belive under 150, unless it's an optimax.. but I could be wrong) do not come from the factory with a trim sender built in. You will need to have a dealer order one for you and either you put it in or have them.

It's fairly easy to install, and takes some time to adjust, but it's a pretty straight forward process.
