Depth finders

My first depth finder was a $99 Hummingbird from Wal-Mart. It worked so well I haven't been able to part with it. My wife uses it in the bow of the boat and she gives me a hard time that it's the cheapest one in the boat but it's the only one that tells the truth. I think there is some truth to it though. It has such a small cone that if it picks up fish they are right under the boat. There are some depth finders that will work great for under $150.

I picked up a bottomline on clearance at Galyan's (RIP) for $40. Pretty narrow cone, but it tells me the depth and I can pick out structure no problem. I don't use it for marking fish, so I got my money's worth.
