Cabela's King Kat rod/reel?

Anyone know what kind of weight i should use with this? all the weights ive used so far aren't enough to get the bait to cast far

The weight that should be used will be written on your rod.. same for line weight.. what the rod is rated for.

The rod will usually say something like.. xxx66mh, Length 6' 6", Medium Heavy Action, Line 10-25, Lure 1-4

The *Lure* rating is what your rod will cat best.. so on the imaginary rod description above, that rod would cast 1oz - 4oz pesentations best.

I've got their 8 footer and it throws a 3 ouncer a mile.

I love my 9ft king kat spinning rod. Can toss a 5oz weight and a bullhead a good distance when needed.
