1996 dodge 1500

I am looking to buy this dodge its a manual the question is or the problem is that in fifth gear it is real noisy, if anyone has info on how, what and how much it would be to fix this would be great, thanks

I am not sure about the 1500 gearboxes, but I know some of the 2500 and 3500 had the NV4500 5 speed and they had a lot of problems.

Generally if a gear is noisy it's not good, but there are many car gurus here that can reply with something more.

I am a Dodge owner, I had a 1500, and 2500 gas, a 2500 diesel but all auto.

I had a 3500 diesel with 6 speed and now I have a 3500 diesel with auto.

Are you sure it is a 1500 ?
