Pflueger rods

Has anyone used a Pflueger rod? Cabelas has a president spinning reel and Pflueger IM8 rod on for $80--one heckuva deal! Just wondering if it's a decent rod.

Don't know about the rods, but I bought a Pflueger President spinning reel last year. I am extremely pleased with it. the price-value-quality ratios was quite were good at the time. I have it on a medium spin rod 6ft. It balances that rod and handles very well. It also has a very nice smooth drag.

Now I see this deal and am kicking myself. With a IM8 graphite rod and the reel at $80 it ought to be a fine setup.

This was my first Pflueger reel, out of many other brands that I own. I must say they got my attention.

I am going to start buying Pflueger stuff just for the name.. Just Say it! .. "Pfluegerrr"" Say it three times now.. "Pflueger, Pflueger, Pfluegerrrr"" What a sweet freaken name for a rod or reel! Beats the dump out of "Shimano". Man, I need to get out of this office today!
