Would an Eagle 480 200hz/20' Transducer work on a 480DF?

I wonder.. to fix my problem and get 20' of cone vs. 12' on my Eagle 480DF... does anyone know if a replacement 480/200hz/20' transducer ($44.00 at Cabelas!) would work with a 480DF? (DF comes with a dual freq narrow cone unit). My DF does have a black connector..?

This is all it says:

I may be misunderstanding, but the advantage of a dual frequency unit is that they have both a wide angle and narrow angle transducer. This is off the cabelas description of the eagle 480DF: "The high-performance, dual-frequency 50 kHz/200 kHz Skimmer® transducer in the transom has a cone angle of 35°/12°, and it operates at boat speeds up to 70 mph."

You should be able to switch back and forth between 35 (wide angle) and 12 (narrow, usually used for deep water or steep breaks)

If you want something inbetween, then i do believe that you can just get the 20 degree cone 'ducer (this is the ducer that comes with the standard 480, cabelas part #IF-015622). If you have any hesitation, just call Eagle/Lowrance directly. They have always been great help when I've had to contact them.

Tx I will contact them. The 50hz won't work for my fishing since it really can't even show the bottom until you get near 50' of water.. it's made for peering into depths up to 1500ft and won't work below 50.. so I have to use the 200hz all the time.. and that cone angle is 12' and I would like 20' (if it even really matters of which I am not sure either)

Yes.. a 200hz 20' transducer IS better for freshwater fishing. And by buying a "HST-WSU" transducer (from anywhere.. I found a local shop)... I will essentially have a Fishmark 480 instead of a SeaFinder 480DF

Anyone need a dual freq eagle/lawrance transducer? Brand new! let me know.
