Lowrance LCX-17m or Lowrance LCX-25c ????

I need help in deciding which Lowrance sonar with I should buy. I know that I want Lowrance but can't decide on the x17 or the x25 with color. These two are have the same functions, color is the only difference.

Which is your preference?

Pros/Cons?

Also, is the gray scale hard to see in the sun? from the side?

I have a x45 now, its about 9 years old. I just bought a x67c, I fished with someone who had one last summer and loved the color compared to my old one. It looked like it was easier to tell the bottom hardness, at least for me.
