Montgomery Ward Snow-thrower

G_man

Question

I have an old (1968) 5 h.P. Montgomery Ward snow blower that I bought used a few years back and it still runs like a champ and does a good job for me. I was summerizing it this weekend and noticed the belts are in rough shape. I found a note in the owner's manual that they were last changed in 1976.

My question is: where would I go to find spare parts (esp. belts currently) for this unit. Monkey-Wards went out of business (I think bankrupt) a long while back. Did they (and their products) get bought out by Sears or anyone? The Owner's manual I have is very detailed and you could only hope to find one half as good with today's products.

Any good auto parts store should have the belts you need. just pull the belts and bring them in. The enjines on most of montgomery wards products are Briggs and Stratton, any small enjine shop should be able to get parts for these.
