Open Lakes

Most small lakes in the TC area have already had ice out, how about farther north. does anyone know if Chisago, of Rush Lake Ice has gone out?

The lakes off 8 around Chisago still had enough ice to keep the boats off yesterday. White Bear is getting close as well. To bad we didn't get more rain before it cooled down! At least there are some smaller lakes to get out on now & pool 4 has been a lot of fun !!!

Anyone go by White Bear or Bald Eagle this morning?

At 4:00 PM today, West Rush has some ice on it. A boat can be launched (public access off of Cty Road 4) and a lot of area is open, just not wide open. I don't think the ice is that thick. A person could get around pretty good. Not enough ice to keep me out if I wanted to. North end has a little more congestion of ice/slush.

White Bear Lake - as of yesterday the west bay (visible from 61) was open but the other 2/3 of the lake were still covered. I will be going by Matuska launch today to see what happened overnight. I will be on the lake tonight if possible but think it will be closer to ice free by tomorrow or this weekend. We need the wind to pick up again!
