Brainerd Area Carp

I spend most of my time shooting carp south of Staples. The problem with this is I work at a resort on Gull Lake, and that is an awful long drive after work. Anyone have any suggestions on someplace to shoot closer to the brainerd area. Preferably in creeks, or some place where I can wade in. Thanks for any input.

You could talk to a CO and see if it's legal to do it at the Gull Lake dam or you could go to the dam behind what is/was Potlatch. It's deeper there, so you can't wade far. There's also the dirt road to the Mississippi right next to Evergreen Cemetary. I used to fish all these spots growing up in Brainerd and they have good numbers of carp. There's also a few walleyes and northerns at the right time of year.
