ProComp Tires

Hillbiehle

Question

There's been alot of talk about SUV tires (I have an Expedition). I've narrowed it down to Bridgestone Duellers Revo's (which I currently have on my Dakota), or BF Goodrich's All Terrain. The tire guy said they had a sale on ProComp this month and say's they are great tires. Anyone know anything about these?

All 3 of the tires you mentioned are great tires all around and each is better in its own way.

If I had to make your decision I would get the Pro Comps 1st, BFG's, then Revos. I choose in that order cause I prefer a more aggressive tread pattern for my needs.

THe BFG's are an all-terrain with great street manners.

The Revo's are a street tire that can handle some off-highway (not exactly off-road) conditions.

The Pro COmps are a more aggressive AT tire that is great on road. Its cheaper than the BFG has a 50K mile treadwear warrenty.

For more people running Pro Comps on Ford Expeditions check out www.fordtruckworld.com (I hope this isn't against TOS on FM) There's a guy with them on his F150 in Princeton that I know and another guy with them on an Expy in Excelsior.

I recently had to buy 4 new 31"x10.5"x15" tires for my dakota. Being on a tight budget, I did a alot of looking around. I have always liket BFG AT's if nonthing else they look great (dumb reason). I heard revos are great from a few people. Both of the above were pretty spendy. I discovered the procomps and they were much cheaper, aggressive enough but not too aggressive, and 50000 warranty so I figured Id give them a shot. I used to see procomp street tires alot when I was younger so I new they have been around a while. I've had them for about 6 or 7 months and I have no complaints. They did alot of driving on the lakes this winter in the snow. I will definitely buy them again at this point. I think I got mine for buy 3 get one free. I'm pretty sure I paid about $340. IF the AT's arent aggressive enough, they have one or two other models that are more aggressive. If you want to know where I got them, shoot me an email. I dont think were allowed to post links.
