Guide Series combo

I bid on a Guide series Competitor combo at a silent auction last night. I got the rod and reel but I haven't heard much about it. Does anybody have one, are know of any feedback on them?

THe Competitor is the least expensive of the 6 Guide series rods. It probably would cost about $30 to $40 retail for a combo. Good beginner setup.

Gander Typically sells these rods from $25 to $40. They usually go on sale for $19.99 They are a pretty cheap rod with a lot of flex in them. The reels are not anything real special. Yes, a good set up for a beginner.
