pro kicker

Feldy

Question

Thinking about putting a prokicker "mercury 9.9" on the port side of my 1800 fisherman. I had a 40hp tiller for years and love the control. I also hold the rod with my right hand and the tiller with my left. Any suggestions or experiences with this set up? I think I will love the shift lever at the top of the handle. Feedback please just so I don't screw this up.

Feldy, I don't think there is any other way to be at the back of the boat with the kicker.

It only makes sense to me to have tiller in left, rod in right. Best spot in the boat, if you ask me! cool.gif

Things I notice with newer boats is that they don't get the rear pedastal base over far enough to the port side. I just sit on a cushion back there anyways, but it would be nice if that pedastal seat in the back could cater to kicker operator.
