Dave
This is why it's important to join ATVAM and/or an ATV Club.ATVAM Member: A 2003 Wisconsin Economic Impact Study found that $34.7million of annual ATV tourism dollars came fromout-of-state ATV users, with 43% of those dollars(approximately $15 million) coming from Minnesota ATVusers. This is in part due to Wisconsin?s extensivedesignated trail system along with extensive support byboth Wisconsin Office of Tourism and local communities andbusinesses. The Wisconsin study calculated that the annualtotal spending by all ATV users was $295 million. The ATV community in Minnesota continues to fight to gaindesignated trails and stop the Anti-Access efforts to closeand stop trails from being designated. In an effort togain the additional support in this fight we need todemonstrate the impact of our recreation on the economy ofMinnesota. This economic data is critical in assisting usin promoting further trail development in Minnesota alongwith assisting us in preventing further closures! To complete an Economic Impact Study, the All-TerrainVehicle Association of Minnesota (ATVAM) will work with theOffice of Tourism and University of Minnesota. With over a$40,000 price tag, this economic study will be a veryexpensive undertaking for our association. To date, individuals, dealers, businesses and clubs havedonated approximately 25% of required funds needed. That is why we need your support to fund this study! Adonation will go a long way towards completion of thisimportant economic study. Our battle becomes even more critical as each year passesby without further trail designation. Opposition iscontinuing to build from the Anti-Access groups. It is notan overstatement to say that this ongoing battle willliterally spell life or death for our recreation. But,with the support of individuals, clubs, business, dealersand manufacturers. Thank you for your generous support!!Note from Dave: I would like to point out that "individuals" need to be highlighted to include not only recreational riders but HUNTERS who use ATVs throughout the hunting seasons.
