taking off the houses

I was wondering why there is a law to take off permenante ice houses off the lake so early. I dont think it is the states responsibility to tell other people to take of houses off if the ice gets too thin. There is still 18 inches of ice and we have to take off the houses already. Just seems kind of weird that they would have it so early.

It is no earlier then other years. I have seen years when there wasn't hardly any ice left at this time of year.
