late march fly fishing

hey guys, i'm from duluth, mn and was thinking about heading out to either montana or colorado for my final spring break before i'm forced to join the real world. i was wondering what kind of fly/trout fishing opportunitties would be available around the last week in march if any. streams aren't fishable here until the end of april and i love the chance to get out west whenever i can. thanks for any info in advance.

I just moved from Missoula to St. Cloud a couple of weeks ago. Where are you planning to travel to? Most likely you will have to nymph in order to catch a lot of fish but it should be fun. I would recommend checking out the local fly shops. If you are heading to the Missoula area I will recommend some spots but only in a private email. [email protected]

I'd check out the Bighorn at Ft Smith. I've fished it in the fall but they have open water and great fishing year round. Especially if the weather cooperates.
