Brian Jones
Welcome to FM Rob!Unfortunately I have not hear about the Cisco(Tullibee) bite being any good for a few years now. I think it was a good five years ago since my father and uncles last hit them good...since then reports have been bad.Sorry but hope this helps
SUNNYD
My father-in-law used to go up religiously for tullibee and whitefish on Leech with Tom Knapp(The Beretta Trick Shooter). They would literally catch hundreds of fish on their trips. That was about 5-6 years ago, since then my father-in-law has gone up with another of our fishing buddies and have been skunked, yep skunked the last two years. There are theories out there that something drastic happened a couple years ago to cause this. This may also explain the huge decrease in daily limits permitted by the DNR for tullibee and whitefish. I would like to hear more from Leech Lake residents on this issue, what was the real cause? Some say that the Cormorants have something to do with it, which may also explain the drop off in walleye fishing over the past couple years as well, but I am no expert on this topic so I would be interested in hearing some more from the Lake Residents and frequent Leech Lake visitors who may be able to shed some more light on this topic.Take care!
