Waubay Perch & Eyes in March

Recommended Posts

I usually hit the refuge on waubay in early Febraury but I think that they close it a t certain time after that, so does anyone know when that is? Also does the perch and walleye fishing usually pick up then? I have read that the March perch bite tends to be very good then but I have never fished Waubay in March, so it would be good to hear from sombody who does. Thanks to any help!! GOOD FISHIN!!!

Here is some Waubay Refuge info. hope this helps.

Fishing - "Walk-in" ice-fishing is allowed from December (after refuge deer season) to ice-out with a valid South Dakota fishing license. Walleye, perch, and northern pike are popular game fish. Please pick up an ice-fishing brochure when you arrive on the refuge.
