M.T. Bucket
Does anyone know of any ice thickness safety guidelines for tournaments--large groups of people on the ice drilling lots of holes? No vehicles, just say 100 people each augering a hole or two. Would there be any difference compared to individual guidelines?
Guest
It's got to be a lot.Look at the Brainerd Tourney- 20,000 people, 40,000 holes and all of the support equipment all contained in a very small area. You'll have no problem with a tourney of 100. wastewaterguru
Ice strength is given in terms of the thickness versus the pounds per square inch it will support. Therefore it doesn't matter if there are 10 people or 20,000. Unless people are standing on top of eachother, the psi is the same.
