Anyone have the Marcum...

I'm considering buying the Marcum VS305 and I'm curious if anyone has one and what you think of it. Yes, the 460 and 560 are great models, but there's a substantial differance in price. All I need is a basic camera so that I can see what the heck is down the hole not biting my line :-)

I suppose while I'm at it, I may as well ask if there's any differance positive or negitive between the Aqua-Vu basic camera and the 305.

Sure wish I had the camera at the Rush Lake Iceleaders contest!!

i have the 400,with the infer red lights, those waleyes eyes realy glow up at night,

and lets just say that if my camera is broken i will not go fishing with out it,

since i have been fishing with a camera i find ice fishing ten times more enjoyable, and hands down a marcum is better then an Aqua-Vu, the sportsmans warehouse is were i got mine

and you can look at them all there, to see which one you like the best.

I don't know that you can say one is hands down better than another. They have differant features and price breaks that make each attractive to differant users.

The cameras are a lot of fun and a very good learning tool as well.

I agree with Rick, I am hooked on using camaras through the ice and the Marcum camaras are a great choice. I have a VS 400 and love it.

That's where I'm thinking about buying the 305. What I need to know is if the 305 is tooooo basic, or if it works just fine. I'd hate to spend a couple hundred dollars on a camera that only works if the sun is at a certain azimuth or only if it's raining cats and not dogs, or dogs, or bees, or dogs with bees in their mouths and when they bark bees come out. You know, that sort of thing :-) LOL

i may have to turn the camera lens by hand to center my bait on the screen, but once its there thats were it stays,

i always use my camera in a fish house and the picture is great, out in the sun you have to have the sun in front of you to see the screen.

I too use the Marcum units.. I have the LX3 and the VS560. Love them both.. I find it hard to even head out on the ice if I forgot to charge the batteries or dont have them with.. Very good tools and entertainment. The biggest choice is how often do you plan to use it? With all the optinos out there and price diffrences that is the biggest choice. I will tell you one thing. .. Once you start you will always wish you went bigger because you have already started the addiction stage.. Your on FM, now your looking at electronics... wont be long and you will be looking for the nearest Fishing anonymous meetings.. LOL LOL LOL...
