Saw557
Looking for a little general info on Spring turkey hunting in the Black Hills I don't expect anyone to give away thier hotspots....although that would be nice ha! I know weather has alot to do with things but as a rule which time during the season has the best odds of favorable birds and weather. Also I familar with the Hills but are there areas that are better than others. I am most familar with the Sturgis-Deadwood-Lead area as I've been out for the Rally several times. Thanks for the help if you want to e-mail me privately I am at [email protected]ThanksScott
Borch
Well you're right about the weather. It usually dictates when the prime time will be. I usually avoid the first two weeks of the season. Too many hunters and the weather is too unpredictable. The area you are familiar with does hold a lot of birds. Also the hunting pressure isn't as heavy there. Run and gun is how it usually works best out there. These birds cover a lot of ground each day.Good Luck!
