Fl-8 SE Batery Question?

I was wondering if i put my battery on the charger with the battery hooked up to status indicator will that affect charge at all? Second part of my question is when the battery gets low does that affect the way it reads fish? Noticed this out fishing how even when the fis took the bait it was still a litlle green sliver not red...? Thanks for any help!

The charge will not be effected by the indicater. I always bring a second battery for the vex, just so when the first does get down to 20% I can chage it. You can tell when your battery is going dead cause the colors go mostly green.

Another good sign that the battery is low is the need to turn up the gain to get the same "resolution" or signal intensity. I ran mine over the weekend for almost 18 hr before the battery was so low that it was barely usable. I agree a second battery is a good idea.
