bearenit0
New guy here from Colorado. I've been fishing many years with a flasher and had a couple questions on under water cameras. First, how are they in deeper water, say 75-100 ft.? I realize that water clarity is a major factor but is the lighting on these pretty good? How does the light affect the fish? I suspect the light could attract the curiosity of some fish. If this has been gone over before, I apologize. I didn’t want to get into the “which unit is the best” discussion, but would like to be “enlightened” on the subject. Thanks for the great forum. I have learned much. Fishing-Around
I've personally never fished that deep with my VS500 but your correct on the "water clarity" aspect. As far as lighting, I've had poor luck with it around the metro after the sun goes down. Way to bright and every microscopic thing glows unbilievably... But it could be just me
Deitz Dittrich
bearenit0,Welcome To FishingMinnesota.com and IceLeaders.comAlways great to see out of staters on the board... Spread the word out there!!!As for the cameras, I have a MC2X with 120 foot of cable and during the summer time I have had it out to about 90 foot one time and could still see pretty good.. .however, this was a very clear lake. I am not a big fan of the lights. They can work, but its all dependant on water clarity. If the water is stained and you turn the lights on, it can look like your driving a porche down the hwy at 200 mph with your highbeams on during a blizzard. Would this stop me from buying one.. NOT A CHANCE...they are a wonderfull learning tool! You are just limmited by water clarity and light!
