LX3 and Minkota Universal Sonar

This fall I purchased a Marcum LX3 to replace my old FL8. It has proven to be a great flasher and I would like to use it on my bow mount Minnkota. Any ideas on how to get it connected to the Universal Sonar?

I believe you have to buy a new trolling motor with the universal sonar included.

Currently Minnkota doesn't provide the universal connector for the Marcum and has no immediate plans to do so. Unless someone knows how to jimmy up a wiring harness you may be out of luck.

I emailed Marcum a while back and this is the response I got...

"Our engineers have supplied Minkota with every thing they need to make an adapter. Unfortunately, I have recently been told that Minnkota is not going to release any type of adapter for our sonar units. Feel free to contact Minnkota and voice you displeasure on this as it was their decision not to have one available."

I also emailed MinnKota and this was the support person's response....

"I am not sure as to why this would be, but it probably has something to do with the number of Marcum depth finders out there not being enough to justify producing a product as an accessory."

GPSMAN, thanks for the info. I will try the fellows at Fishlectronics to see if the can rig the connection.
