As for the float situation...I got a vex float and took the decal off, not that it means anything. This was put on a Clearwater Classic ducer and works fine. I think the float costabout $4.00 at Gander.

I have used my LX-3 for the last couple of years and have caught more fish because of it. Although, I have had a couple of problems with the unit and have had to send it in to be repaired at crucial times of the year when I need it most. One of the problems is the face plate on the unit. It basically fryed and I was out my unit for 8 days. A painful 8 days it was. Luckily I still have my Vex for a back up. The other problem was the ducer. I think Marcum should design something a little better for protection. I like the bubble wrap idea and will use that to protect my baby. I think the Marcum is an incredible unit and wouldn't pass on it for anything disregarding the problems I have had. Sincerely, SB
