Can you tell us what the total bill came to.

The welder charged my 47 bucks to cut the bad spindle off and weld on a new one, the new hub was 24 bucks....

What did you do to the other side. Did you replace the bearings or just repack.

$47 for replacing the spindle seems like a good deal.

Depending on how much use it gets I repack mine every other year but I check the grease on a regular basis for signs of water and seal failure.
