89 force 125 outboard problems

i just came across a nice boat with this motor setup, problem is it was not winterized this year, and last year ran kind of rough. does anyone know where i could get it tuned up or repaired, it is on the boat, currently in cambridge. thanks for any info.

I would just say "thank you for showing" and walk away from it.

Force are notorious for having problems.

In this case it needs carburetors rebuilt or at least cleaned up well. If you'll have a lean condition on one of the carbs you will fry motor in a hurry.

Run away, many people of gotten out of boating after owning a Force.

valv, any ideas on cost, or where to get it done, or better yet any ideas on someone who would take it off my hands, or trade for better motor ?

First thing to get done would be a leak down test. That will tell you what kind of shape your piston rings, cylinder and head gasket are in. If motor has internal problems not worth fixing. Most places should be able to this for about $50 or less.
