Questions about aqua vu scout.

Question

on my aqua vu scout camera there is a crack/slit on the top of the skin on the (lip?) for the cable. I brought it out to the lake and tested it out. it worked fine the first time. I used it a second time that day and the picture started fuzzy and then the screen displayed lines running down. I brought it back to the store and they gave me a new one. That one also has a slit. My question is this: Is that slit supposed to be there and if it isn't should I even try it out in the water? confused.gif

mine has the same slit i think it is there as you can buy and replace the skin with different types i havent had any trouble with mine the only time the picture goes screwy is when the battery goes dead i now bring one of those battery jump packs for cars and plug it in to that for longer use i hope that helps

Yes the skin on the camera is replaceable. so that slit is normal. You should not have a leakage problem. When you get them lines, check the battery...the battery is usually more of the problem.. Keeping it(the battery) warm will help extend its life.. this may mean keeping it a little off the ice at times when its cold out!

I more curious to find out if you 1.) had a fully charged battery or 2.) the amount of total time camera used off the battery. I'm hoping that it is more of an operator error issue, for as I really like mine and have had no problems as of yet. I will check mine out later and see if mine has that same crack/slit. I believe you are only supposed to get about 4-5 hrs off a full charge.
