Jiffy Ice Auger

Ive been having a constant problem ever since I bought this Jiffy Ice auger. It will run fine after its been in the garage and its warm but once i take it to say the lake where its cold outside it will not start for anything. It is a Jiffy Legend Lightning Model 77 and its only a year old. Any Suggestions?

I think for the most part, at least in the conditions lately, most augers have some problems starting from time to time. 2 groups of guys at the tourney on Mille Lacs last weekend had that problem, one jiffy, one strikemaster. Mine has the same problem. I usually put in the cab when we pull up to the spot (assuming you drive out), and keep the heat running. By the time we get the portable set up and everything ready to go, the auger is warm enough to fire right up. Thats the only real suggestion I can give you, hope that helps a little Also, try priming (?) it more than normal. That also works for me usually and I also have a Jiffy.

i use the same auger and i have noticed that it starts and cuts fine, but likes to kill between holes and then needs more priming. when the weather warms up a little it should be fine
