I've seen some nice trout caught in Xmas over 5 lbs. They seem to cruise the weedline or be up in the weeds during the winter. The fish we've caught have eaten a panfish jig like a Demon tipped with a waxie up in the weeds about 6-7 feet of water. There are some big trout in there.

Hey thanks for the input Pete,

From my limited knowledge and experience with winter trout, it seems as though they often cruise the shallow areas near drop offs--relating to shallower water than most other fish this time of year. Has this been your experience?
