Gun Lake,Minaki

Heading up there 3rd week of june. Anyone have experience with this area?

I spent 5 days in Minaki during the first week of June in 04. We generally fished north up in big sand, but after I left(I could only stay for 5 days, but my friends got to stay for a week) the crew I fished with found some pretty good walleye fishing near one of the rivermouths in Gun. It was pretty fun fishing even though the walley bite seemed slow for minaki. Early june is a good time to go as the fish are quite shallow. We casted to any points or chunk rock we could find. Nice mixed bag of smallies, walleyes, northerns, and a few encounters with muskies.
