Ok here is what you need. A vexlar 18 or camera, gold genz jigs, spikes or minnow heads, spring. They are very finicky. You can go blind staring at the spring - or is that other thing? You can start by following the crowds. But give them space. It is a big lake. Be prepared to move around. Think about gambling....

Hey EyeHunter1

Me and a couple of guys from work are headed up on Thursday night for the weekend. Let me know how you do. We rented a house from Woodland Resort. I hope that they can put me on some fish. Good Luck!!

Coolhand...I hope you guys have better luck them we did. We arrived last tuesday and cut our trip short by a day. The weather was extremly cold 45-50 below with wind chill. The perch bite has been pretty much non-existent all winter. The walleye bite has been pretty decent but the weather wouldn't allow us to move around much. Our group of 13 guys managed 16 eyes non over 16 inches and 5 perch.

I think the weather is suppose to get better this week so I hope fishing will improve for you guys! We fished out by the towers area by Wolfords. We tried Black Tiger fri. evening and never marked a fish. The eyes we did catch we caught on jigging spoons tipped with a head.

Good luck to you and stay warm!!!!

I talked about Halis in my post under Woodlands Resort. Halis are the ticket. I fished with a couple of the real die hard locals and 90% of the time we used a form of Halis. I would not be afraid to have a couple of genz worms also. Stay on the move. Drill a lot of holes.

My tip is to go late in the ice season. This year it is a tough deal. The "Bite" tends to get more preditable on late ice. I have not talked with any guides whom have had a "Good Perch Day" yet.....s-l-o-w is the word.

Walleye and pike have been fair to good, and will just get better latter on too.
