pricing help

I have got a line on a 1998 polaris 500 sportsman atv. It has about 400 miles on it. Hardly ever used. We are trying to decide on a fair price but we don't know what that would be. Does anyone here know what a good price for both of us would be? I am not trying to steal it just pay a fair price. Also is there any concerns I should have for this machine sitting idle for long intervals of time? Thanks for your help.

Inside storage and I think it has a plow.

Google search Kelley Blue Book. You can get retail and wholesale prices there. Was the machine sitting outside or inside during those idle periods? Completely stock or does it have any extras on it?

I had a 2000 sportsman 500 that i sold about 1&1/2 years ago for $3800. It did not have a plow but did have a winch. I think that was a fair price and the machine had about 1000 miles on it. hope this helps. good luck on the purchase, I had great luck with mine and only sold it to upgrade to a 2004.5 600!
