Question on the Marcum Lx3

I have been looking at the Marcum Lx3 and had a few questions. If Marcum has nothing to do with the old Zercom how come the knobs, carrying case, transducer arrms and the rest look so close to the ColorPoint that I presently have. Will I have the same problems I have had with my colorpoint. The Colorpoint came out to compete with Vexilar but didn't quite fit the bill. Will this happen with the Marcum as well? I really like the Marcum but am just worried it will be another Colorpoint.

MarCum electronics and sonar were designed by MarCum's Engineers who worked for the Defense Department prior to MarCum. There are NO colorpoint guts in the MarCum.

They have some of the best engineers in the world that know the latest sonar technology and that technology is what they used.

The case looks similar because MarCum purchased the mold for the plastic casing, but there is NO chance the MarCum is a colorpoint copy.

They have a 3 year track record now and it looks pretty solid with respect to sonar performance at this point.

Yea my buddy bought a used color point for 50.00, i was surprised how much it looked like my Marcum.

Color point never had problems with their looks, case or cover, the unit on the other hand had a few issues. I love my LX-3, you will too.
