DRH1175
I was at Joes yesterday and was looking at the new Camera's I was looking at the Marcum 560 and the zt50 from aquaview Of course there was a price difference. Other than screen size is there any difference I should know about. I like the motorized camera feature that marcum has but one thing the salesman noted is that the ZT can be used as a horizontal or as a down viewing camera. He said that walleyes are now spooked as much on a vertical set up. Between the features etc... What do you all think?
ice_shack
I think the Marcum has a better lighting system and with a little creativity you could duplicate the "downview" system pretty easy.
mrwalleye_13
I cant say anything about the marcum becuase i havent even looked at one. But so far i really like my zt50. Haven't had any problems with it. You really can probably make a vertical camera position for the marcum even if it doesnt come with one. As far as screen size, you've already spent a little over 300 on the zt, so why not buy the magnifying screen for another 23.99 or whatever. It works well and i like it... but thats my 2 cents
rod bender
DRH, I have the VS 560 and love it. The pan feature is wonderful! Also it does come with a down-viewing attachment. It is a stiff plastic strap that replaces the weight for open water fishing. You just hook the cable in the slot and you're good to go. The lighting is much better on these units although I havn't had it side by side with the new Aqua-vu. I can't talk for the Aqua-vu but you'll especiall like the case and set up of the Marcum. It doesn't take 15 min to set up. The cord real is also a nice feature.
DRH1175
Thanks that answered the questions I had. The Marcum I thought was a better unit. But couldn't figure out why they didn't have a down viewing option. Thanks for letting me know It did. I did think in the store anyways that the marcum seemed more clear. I will probably end up with the marcum than. Thanks!
mrwalleye_13
What are the differences between the marcum you are talking about and the aqua view? Pricewise? Qualitywise? I have the aqua as i was saying, but whats the diff.
