duck:

hey. i live near osage, and bring my auger blades to clayton's saw shop. he does em for $4, and they work great. just find a small saw shop, and bring em in. someone who can sharpen chains and saws will know how to do it. after watching him do it, i'm tempted to try it myself next time. makes it look simple. but for $4, you can't beat it.

good luck...

It takes a bit of knowledge and the right equipment. The hardest thing about sharpening them yourself is maintaining the same angle on the cutting face. The make grinders with special jigs to hold the blade to sharpened those things. If you get the wrong angle you are gonna ruin the blades. I have sharpened just straight chipper blades and they worked fine, but I tried the curved shaver blades on my hand auger and wound up buying a new set cuz I got them messed up a little and I say a little. ooo.gif I know how(was a machinist for 10 yrs) but without the right equipment almost impossible. smile.gif
