permanent shack wiring ideas

What have you all used for power inverters off of a 12-volt marine battery in your permanent shacks?

Right now I run a motorcycle headlight off of my battery, and it works like a charm instead of a propane lantern. But, I would like to get a dc-power inverter to run a small tv/vcr combo off the battery that attaches to a 12-volt battery with alligator style clips.

Has anyone done this? How has it worked? Anyone have any other ideas for hooking up outlet style power inverters to batteries?

If you search "Inverter" on this site, there is alot

of good info. on the subject.

I run a 400 watt inverter in my truck, it can be a

handy tool, depending on an individules situation.
