wazuplittlefishes
Lets get a fourm going here about ice thickness and where we can catch some panfish around the area. Anywhere from Vermillion to Pickeral. Where has been the best place?
berke99
My son is at Lake Thompson fishing the north end. Said 10 inches of ice and people are driving on with their vehicles. He said he's caught a few walleyes. I hope to be there tomorrow!

Mike Walerak
Well I'm back after a week long absence form the ice. Things have changed quite abit since I was out last. Fished for an hour this morning on Beldens Slough with no luck. I think it may have froze out since the water dropped a foot. There was 9 inches of ice though. I will be out and about all week long so I will keep on posting. mw

dakotaB
Be very carefull on Lake Thompson! There is an ice heave on the north end that has been causing problems. A guy I know was walking off after dark Tuesday night (Dec, 28) and when he crossed the heave he broke through. He got out quickly is was fine. Also my dad was out there yesterday (Dec,29) and watched a guy try to drive across the heave and put the front end of his truck into the lake. I'm heading up around that area tonight and will fish all weekend. I'll let ya know how I did. Be safe!
ifishsd
10 inches of ice on Lake Thompson. Fishing was very slow only 1 walleye and 1 northern in 8+ hours of fishing. Nobody I talked to was catching any perch.
Mike Walerak
From what I have gathered all the fish are being caught near the heave. 10-14 feet of water seems to be the ticket. We fished it Monday night and only had a couple bites and no fish. We were near the second stock dam and ther were only few fish caought around us.mw
N_Foster
Fished Lake Thompson and Whitewood lake on 12-31. Thompson was very slow. I didn't even see a fish on the Vexilar. Whitewood was also slow, but the perch were moving through, they were just hugging the bottom and very finicky. Caught one perch between four of us. It was a very nice perch though.
