Unattended Tipup?

Is it legal to sit in your home with viewing distance to the lake with a tipup set? (Not an ice home )

I saw this happen. Basically it was a Tipup unattended.

Don't believe so. I think you have to be wihin 50 or 80ft. Not positive on the distance

Come awn, this is getting stretched isnt it, 50 feet, 80 feet. If I EVER get a ticket for that, I will be shocked lol!

Personally I keep mine 49.5 feet away, and I am sure NOT to lean away at any time.

Actually in MN regulations it says "Anglers must remain within 200 feet of their tip-up"

In ND it is 150 feet I think. I have seen Tip-Ups confiscated and ticketed for unattended lines.

An unattended line is also considered 1 hour without physical contact, which too is a possible offence you can get a ticket for in ND. Rare deal, but it can happen.

Until a few years ago, the MN reg was something like 50 ft. They increased it. 200 ft is much better.
