ice fishing twin lakes

Recommended Posts

never fished this lake in the winter, only a few times in the summer. Im from michigan and am trying to figure out how to fish these colorado lakes. i built a shanty and want to put it on twin lakes. where is the best place and whats the best lures or bait. I would also like to learn how to fish 11mile. any suggestions? I live in salida and have an auger and a portable shanty and a full size shanty. If any one would like to hook up with me that knows the fishery I would be willing to provide everything. everything here is so much diferent from michigan.

Hey 8-Pike, welcome to the site! Where abouts in Michigan are you from? I was born in Detroit, then moved to Ferndale. Been out here since 82. Still have lots of family there so we go back every year. My wifes' from East Lansing. Lots of great guys use this site, plus lots of excellent information. You'll enjoy it!

Use Red Wings for bait! Welcome to the site. Use tube jigs or large spoons tipped with a small piece of sucker meat for the Macs @ Twin Lakes. I very seldom fish Eleven Mile. Your welcome to join us at Williams Fork or Granby this winter for Macs. Also Williams Fork has some huge Pike.

I'm sure there are plenty of those "Wings" around, since they're not playing any hockey this year. If they catch fish as well as they beat up on the "Avs", it's the only bait you'll ever need! I've never been to Williams Fork, that could be fun!

The only legal live bait above 8000', is waterdogs. You can use dead suckers. I've iced 20lb plus pike out of Williams Fork, and Stage Coach is another great pike lake. Your welcome to come on any fishing trip that I go on this year. Good luck to you, and I hope to meet you on the ice,

well sanchez was my favorite lake in the state till it ran out of water. I was there this summer twice and caught maybe 10 pike and 1 Walleye. .The water is full of algae and is very low. Normally I could catch up to 50 pike a day and half a dozen walleye in the evening. I havent fished it in the winter for the past 2 years but used to get lots of jumbo perch. Has the water level improved since June? Havent been there since then. Anybody out there familiar with twin lakes or elevenmile? would realy appreciate some info. thanks 8pike
