Transducer interferance

Ok, I know I am a couple months ahead of schedule here but can a guy get away with having the same frequency transducer on the transom and trolling motor without interferance? My boat is 16'4". To be more specific I have an Eagle fish easy 2 on the back and for spring I want to put another eagle on the front.

Go for it. The two sounders will get along just fine.

I have a Vex FL8 on the bow and a Humminbird Matrix 37 on the transom. The Vex runs at 200Khz and the Matrix runs at either 200Khz or 83Khz (or both). When running both at 200Khz I do get interference on both units. The Vex has the IR button that you can use to try and get rid of the interference but it does not get rid of all of it. When running both at the same time I just set the Matrix to 83Khz to avoid the problem. I suppose the Matrix has some interference settings I could monkey with but that would involve reading the manual…………

Giant_Jackpot the Vex is a whole nother animal. I don't know of any sounders it doesn't interfere with. If you run the Vex with another sounder, that sounder usually is going to need a IR or noise reduction function of some sort.

I hear ya on the Vex problem. Not sure why they are noisier than others but at least I have a workaround for my interference.

Any bets on how many threads will be opened this winter in the ice fishing forum on Vexilars interfering with each other? I’ll bet there will be at least 15!
