radke22
Is the limit for trout is 3 and the possesion limit is the same. How is it possible to have a stringer mount with up to 6 fish on it? If i bring 3 fish to the taxidermist twice is that legal? He will have 6 fish with my license number on them.
riverrat56
Well I dont know if this is technically legal but couldnt you have a buddy take in 3 fish and then have them all put on the same stringer and you just pay for it when its done? radke22
That could very well work, i am also not sure if it would be legal, but that else is there to do?
JohnMickish
Have it done with replicas that way you can have your mount with the number of fish and size you want.
Hammer-Smites
Tell the taxidermist your dad caught them and get him in trouble!!(just kidding - I know your dad.)All jokes aside - You could bring them to WI where the limit varies depending on the species of fish.I know a good taxidermist in WI that I could set you up with. She has done some steelhead for my dad and I and has done other fish for me. She does an awesome job.
ChadM
Great question....Please ask the DNR and let us know. My assumption is that when the fish is mounted it is skinned. I would guess that a skin mount would not count towards your posession limit. However, if you have 6 in your freezer you are in violation. You would have to catch 3 and have them mounted and then catch 3 more.
